HuFoSS supports the dissemination of results from EcoPotential (www.ecopotential-project.eu) about the most important ecological functions and structures for European Protected Areas, which ecosystem services (such as fishing or tourism) these areas provide, and what risks and challenges there are. The Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) in Texel and Yerseke were leading the research. For the Wadden Sea, also the opinion of stakeholders located around the Wadden Sea was mapped. Hospitality entrepreneurs, municipal officials, environmental associations, industry, ferry services, etc, etc, have been surveyed and come to surprisingly similar conclusions. HuFoSS considers the dissemination and presentation of these results important for promoting a sustainable balance in future policy and management for the Wadden Sea. HuFoSS will provide travel grants to inform stakeholders. If you would like more information or a lecture on this subject to be presented at your organization, please contact us (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, quoting “EcoPotential Wadden Sea Research”).
